Vital
and balanced selection of the grape varieties planted in
vineyards of Slovakia is represented by the most grown ones,
that are characteristic for the entire Central European region,
followed by varieties that were brought from more distant regions of
Europe during
Modern age and new crossings that were selected in the last decades.
The
List of registered grape varieties (Listina
registrovaných odrôd) containts among others 23 white,
10 red and 3 Tokaj grape varieties (Furmint, Lipovina and
Muškát žltý) of Vitis vinifera L. (Vinič hroznorodý).
